Why choose us?

Our unique nurturing approach will give your child the opportunity to develop into a joyful, confident learner who is prepared for success in school and in life.

FUN WHILE LEARNING

Our approach is based on widely accepted research that indicates that children experience the deepest, most genuine learning when they are having fun. Highly trained teachers foster the cognitive and social development of each child by lovingly guiding the class through play-based activities.

CHILD LEAD DEVELOPMENT

Kids World offers child-focused, teacher-led lessons that are tailored to the children’s interests. If a teacher is giving a lesson on the plants but the children are captivated by forest animals, the teacher may change the lesson to focus on forest animals.

EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

Daily enrichment programs foster your child’s self-esteem and set the foundation for a well-rounded, healthy lifestyle. These programs may include languages such as sign language and Spanish, music and drama.

DEDICATED TRAINED TEACHERS

Diligent hiring practices ensure that the best people work our child care center, and Kids World teachers receive ongoing professional development and accredited training Our teachers use proven, play-based methods to nurture healthy development in children and encourage and give confidence to children to pursue a lifelong love of learning.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is based on respect for the child as an individual with concern for his or her interests, challenges, talents, and pace of learning. Surrounded by an environment where the child has an opportunity to experience a variety of activities throughout the day that will help him or her develop a feeling of independence and confidence. We feel that these accomplishments are vital for the child’s self-esteem and self-identity.

We are committed to providing a clean, safe environment for the child to spend their day. A learning center that is calm, warm, loving, and nurturing and where affection is freely given so that a child feels valued and secure. We use a small group setting so we can provide personal attention to guide each child’s developmental needs socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.

Kid’s World Learning Center encourages and values parental involvement. We believe in a partnership with parents so we can recognize the uniqueness of each family’s values, standards, lifestyle, and cultural heritage.

Kid’s World Learning Center will continue to evaluate our program each year in order to provide the quality Early Childhood Development Program your child deserves. We will work toward an accreditation from the National Association of Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is an award given to only the highest level of quality preschool programs. Kid’s World believes in continued education for our teachers in order to provide them with the most current early childhood concerns, development, and teaching practices to keep them engaged in this challenging and rewarding career. We will work toward all of our teachers receiving their Child Development Associates within the next two to three years thus giving our children the quality of teachers they deserve.

MISSION STATEMENT

We are dedicated to working with each child’s individual needs and learning styles.  We want our center to be a place where your child can reach their potential; where we will challenge them, inspire them and instill in them a sense of wonder about the world around them.  We want to push past the boundaries of discovery for our children and create an environment that surpasses the norm.

Our staff embrace the importance of teaching children social skills that they will carry with them throughout their lives.  When the child reaches out to be loved, comforted, included, welcomed, and cuddled it is at that moment that we must encircle them with compassion and love.  This is how we guide the child’s treatment of others.  We want the children at Kid’s World to grow up to be compassionate and understanding individuals who demonstrate empathy for their friends and the people around them.

We are committed to constantly looking at ways we can make the experience better at Kid’s World.  Continued education is a vital part of our organization; we understand that you must continually learn in order to grow professionally.  Our staff trains once a month in order to know the new laws from the state, the latest in early childhood development, health, and safety practices.  Our teacher’s commitment and love for children is demonstrated each day by giving hours of personal time to these trainings.

Kid’s World’s goal is to continue to collaborate with other early childhood experts and organizations that share our commitment and passion for children.  Some of these organizations are the Texas School Ready!, the State Education Center for this area, Willis Independent School District, and the Houston Association of Early Childhood.

Teachers

Most of our teachers have been with Kid’s World Learning Center for several years. When selecting a potential teacher to work at Kid’s World Learning Center they must meet required guidelines including, but not limited to: education, experience, references, training, childcare philosophy, a criminal background check, and fingerprinting. These background checks are conducted on all persons that work full or part-time at the center regardless of their job description. All employees must attend an orientation process that includes center policies and procedures, an overview of minimum standards, symptoms and prevention of child abuse and neglect, procedures in handling emergencies, first aid, information specific to the age group they will be working with, Texas Rising Star standards, and much more. All teachers are required to attend 40 clock hours of early childhood continued education classes. In addition, all teachers must be certified in CPR and First Aid, educated on Shaken Baby Syndrome, SIDS, and early infant brain development, and educated on Child Abuse and Neglect. All lead teachers must be working on or currently have their Child Development Associates certificate or a degree in education. Kid’s World feels it is essential for all of our teachers to attend continued education courses in order to be current and engaged in this challenging and rewarding career choice of Early Childhood Education. In order to achieve these goals for our teachers, Kid’s World works to find scholarships, has fundraising events at the school, pays our teachers to attend staff development meetings, and provides instructors to come to the school to train our teachers.

our reviews

Shelbi Craig
"Kid’s world was awesome for my kids. So many fun activities and trips and such caring teachers. Dance, gymnastics, swim and science! It’s clean and safe. I moved away and had to change schools but kid’s world gave my daughter an excellent foundation for when she started her new school in Houston. Would give 10 stars if I could. Kid’s world is a gem!"
